Done Deal: Oswalt Agrees To Be Traded To The Phillies

The most sought after pitcher at this trade deadline has finally agreed to a trade which will send him to the Philadelphia Phillies. Roy Oswalt has been traded from Houston to Philadelphia in return for pitcher J.A. Happ, outfielder Anthony Gose, and shortstop Jonathan Villa. With few options on the table, Oswalt, who ultimately decided he wanted to win now, accepted the Philadelphia Phillies trade because not only will he have a chance to win, but they have increased his buyout by $1 million. The Houston Astros will also pay nearly half of his guaranteed money while he is still…

The Year of the Pitcher

By: Dan Levin Matt Garza became the fifth pitcher in the bigs this season to throw a no-hitter on Monday, the most since 1991 when they were seven thrown.  Garza not only no-hit the Tigers, but also faced the minimum of 27 hitters with his one walk being erased on a double play.  This season we have seen no-hitters from Garza, Ubaldo Jimenez, Edwin Jackson, and perfect games from Dallas Braden, Roy Halladay, and the imperfect game from Armando Galarraga and Jim Joyce.  There are 17 pitchers in the majors with 10 or more wins this season and 18 pitchers…

T.O. The Bengals

It was only a matter of time before he did sign with a team, but things moved a lot faster than expected. Terrell Owens signed a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals today that was worth $2 million, with incentives that could get him up to $4 million. Talks of a contract with the Bengals were in works for several months now, but once the Bengals put a deadline on…

The Ravens’ second round pick failed his physical and will not be able to participate in training camp until he is in good enough shape. Going into the draft, there were serious concerns with Cody’s work ethic, and this situation that he put himself in does nothing but support those claims. With the Ravens first draft pick, Sergio Kindle, on the physically unable to…

Where Does He Go?

It’s only a matter of time before T.O. signs a deal with a new team. Despite all of the controversy over his career, and his age, and just 55 receptions for 829 yards and 5 touchdowns with the Bills, he is still one of the leagues better receivers, and he was the Bills best receiver last year. While the Cincinnati Bengals have already offered T.O. a contract in hopes of pairing him with Chad Ochocinco in a division where the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Cleveland Browns all have questions at cornerback, another team has thrown their name in the…
