One could argue that Jerry Rice is the greatest football player in history and it would certainly be hard to argue with them. From the start of his career it was clear how massively talented he was. He went to Mississippi Valley State for college but despite the limited exposure the San Francisco 49ers still took him with the 16th overall pick. Their reward for taking him was three Super Bowls. Rice is still the NFL’s All-Time Leader in Receptions, Receiving Yards and Receiving Touchdowns. The 13-time Pro Bowler and 12-time All-Pro finished his 20-year career with 1,549 catches, 22,895 receiving yards and 197 touchdowns receptions. He also ran 10 touchdowns into the endzone. While some argue that Rice was made by two Hall of Fame quarterbacks, it can just as easily be argued that he made two Hall of Fame quarterbacks. Rice was a two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year and was inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
