Many credit the rise in the NFL to the creation of NFL Films. It helped give a more behind the scenes look at the sport. It helps made players less plane faces under a helmet and created a connection with the fans. The slo-motion with great cinematography, music and the incredible voice narrating the action helped to give football en epic sort of feel that no other sport has. That was all the great work of Ed Sabol. In 1962 he founded Blair Motion Pictures and was contracted to film the 1962 NFL Championship game. By 1964 he stuck an exclusive deal to preserve the greatest games in the NFL on film and it grew from there. Sabol helped preserve the game at the time he helped grow the game with his interesting angles to coverage and innovative inside look into the sport that has never been done before. Sabol served as President of NFL Films until 1985 and served as the Chairman through his retirement in 1995.
