Pat RileyPat Riley

Whether it was with the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Knicks or the Miami Hear, Pat Riley was a great winner marching the sidelines of a basketball court. He won five NBA Championships as a coach, four with a great Lakers dynasty and another with the Miami Heat decades later. Riley was just the second person to become a three-time NBA Coach of the Year and sits second in history with 1,210 career victories, retiring with more than anybody. In the playoffs he won 282 more games, the second most in history. Though Riley did not win a title with the Knicks, he took them to the NBA finals in 1994. He coached nine teams to the NBA Finals. Riley has been considered by many coaches one of the greatest masters of X’s and O’s of basketball and his ability to adapt to his personnel. Riley was the architect of the Showtime Lakers, which dominated the NBA with their fast-breaking and no-look passing.
