Bobby Orr

As much as the physicality of the sport it loved, defender is not a glory position in Hockey, but Bobby Orr still managed to be one of the most glorified players in hockey’s history and revolutionized the position. Orr played 12 seasons and to this day remains the only defenseman to lead the league in scoring, winning the Art Ross Trophy twice. He also won eight straight Norris Trophies as the league’s top defenseman and three straight Hart Trophies as the league MVP. Orr scored 270 goals with 645 assists in his career. He led the league in goals in the 1974-75 season and assists in 1970-71. He led the NHL in +/- six times, the most in NHL history.
