Mario Lemieux

You don’t get the nickname ‘The Magnificent One’ without being pretty special. Mario Lemieux made faking out defenders popular throughout his career and it helped him become one of the most decorated players in the history of the game. Lemieux played 17 seasons in the NHL and amassed 690 goals, and 1,033 assists. Remarkably, he came back out of retirement after three seasons and took the ice again and still competed at a high level. He was a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, three-time MVP and Olympic Gold Medalist. At the time of his retirement he was seventh all-time in goals scored and second only to Wayne Gretzky in goals per game.
