Bear Bryant

You know Bear Bryant and his trademark hat and matching jacket roaming up and down the sidelined with a calm demeanor but tenacity for winning. At the time of his retirement Bear Bryant had the most wins as a coach with a 323-85-17 record, creating a dynasty with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Bryant won seven national championships in Tuscaloosa, won 12 SEC titles and was a 12-time SEC Coach of the Year. Alabama had three undefeated seasons under Bryant and lost just one game 10 times in 25 years. But more than just his great success at Alabama, Bryant had an undefeated season with Texas A&M and suffered just one lost during a season as the head coach of Kentucky. He also coached one season at Maryland to start his career that featured 30 winning seasons and 15 bowl game victories.
