Joe DiMaggioJoe DiMaggio

Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio is one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. In 13 seasons, DiMaggio batted .325/.398/.579 with 2,214 hits, 389 home runs, 1,537 RBIs and 389 doubles. At the time of his retirement DiMaggio was fifth in career home runs and sixth in slugging percentage. Perhaps his greatest achievement is his 56-game hitting streak, a record that still stands to this day. DiMaggio missed three years in the prime of his career while serving in the military during World War II, but in his 13-years he was an All-Star every season, won nine World Series with the New York Yankees and won three AL MVPs. He led the American League in batting average, home runs and RBIs two different seasons. DiMaggio was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955.
